89% of leaders: ‘The IT skills shortage is affecting my organisation’

A poll at the Crimson Innovation Conference 2019 has revealed that the skills shortage in the IT jobs market continues to hinder many organisations.

89% of respondents, which were predominantly technology leaders, CIOs, and other C-suite executives of major UK organisations, reported that the IT skills shortage was negatively impacting their companies.

Award-winning data author announced as keynote for Crimson’s Conference

Crimson is pleased to announce that award-winning writer Dr Ben Goldacre will be the keynote speaker at Crimson’s Innovation Conference in 2019.

Ben, who is also a doctor, broadcaster and Senior Clinical Research Fellow at University of Oxford, will be debating the famous revolutionary promise “We all know that data can change the world” but also, crucially, the various ways that data can be used to deceive: covering dodgy graphs, misleading analyses, and exquisitely deceptive artificial intelligence models.

It is Ben’s belief that “the more technical the world becomes, the more we must all raise our game, to avoid being caught out by digital snake oil”. His speech promises to be a lively, humorous, and thought-provoking presentation.

Gartner, who surveyed more than 3000 CIOs in 89 countries (across all major industries), has suggested that most technology leaders have overseen successful digital transformations within their organisations. Digital transformation has been high on CIO agendas for several years. Now Gartner has stated that CIOs' primary objective for 2019 is to drive scale via digital channels to enhance CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT.
