Why you should attend: The CIO Candidate Workshop
This week we met with Crimson’s Caisha Sheikh, Caisha has worked within CIO search and selection for a number of years and is now in charge of maintaining Crimson’s most senior partnerships. Caisha is passionate about giving senior candidates the support they need to reach new career heights. Her next workshop is on 29th August.
What is the CIO Candidate Workshop?
Caisha: The workshop is an interactive event designed to prepare CIO’s or IT Directors for their next step. Many of the candidates I’ve encountered have superb skills and an impressive career history. However, they're unsure how to map their career and identify the next step. As candidates climb the career ladder the application process intensifies. In many cases it’s hard to understand what employers are looking for. My workshops focus on everything from goal setting, CV writing and interview techniques to personal branding and LinkedIn.
What’s the format of the event?
Caisha: The workshops are free. We run two, one in Birmingham in August and one in London in September. We use group and individual exercises to talk through various examples and approaches such as the ‘star method’.
Who is the event aimed at?
Caisha: CIO’s, CDO’s, CTO’S, IT Directors or equivalent. If you have an interest in personal progression you will find the workshop a useful forum for learning and sharing experiences with people at a similar level.
What will I gain from attending?
Caisha: The session will help you develop your proposition and your personal brand. Your LinkedIn will be optimised meaning employers will be able to find you. You will also learn how to build a LinkedIn network that supports your career goals. You should leave the session feeling equipped to pursue your job search and that you have a competitive advantage over other candidates. It’s about building your confidence, identifying your strengths and weaknesses and getting yourself prepared for what could be the interview of your life!
