5 updates you need to be aware of before 2022 Release Wave 2
This year’s Wave 2 updates will be generally available on October 1st. Discover the top five things you need to know before the release.
Advanced Find
When the 2022 Release Wave 2 becomes generally available on October 1st 2022, advanced find will automatically change to a new, modern experience across all Dynamics 365 modules and model-driven apps.
Dataverse will become the new default search tool in a cloud environment, and the new Advanced Find can be access by clicking the Dataverse Search box. This allows users to search for rows within a table using Advanced Find, with advanced filters used to define query terms which can then be set as a new query. In each query selection, the tables shown are determined by the tables that are included in each app, so may not reflect all the tables in your environment.
Auto filtered Activities
The new dropdown on ‘Activities’ will now only show relevant activities, instead of showing activities that aren’t included in the app metadata – these will be hidden by default.
Virtual tables between Dataverse instances
Users will be able to create virtual tables in one Dataverse environment, that will be able to provide access to data in another Dataverse environment – allowing organisations will various Dataverse environments to reduce duplicate data by linking to existing data.
Power Fx in Dataverse
Wave 2 will see business rules expand to use Power Fx as the universal low-code language across Power Platform instead of custom coding such as JavaScript.
The Power Fx formula bar has been directly integrated into the column settings, allowing easy editing of the formula without opening another window. Formula columns will be calculated in real time.
Quick Reports
Power BI reports will be able to be built in one click in Power Apps, which will now include the ability to save the report to a workspace to improve ease of access and customisation.
